SUPPORT & APPLICATION

Support

Only a minority of 15% of Yatta Division’s total population are salary earners employed by either the central government, local government, NGO’s or private industries. The remaining are 85% rely on farming and small scale businesses. Unpredictable rains and prolonged droughts have caused a great percentage of the population below the existence level. Numerous families have not been able to cover basic needs such as food and water let alone educating their children. Engraved in everyone’s mind is the memory of one family in our community that was forced to slaughter their dog as the only domestically living animal after undergoing three days without food. Since this is not a single case story the area highly depends on the support of partners, donors and volunteers from the world over. Baraka Technical College therefore welcomes any kind of support regardless of its magnitude.
