COMMUNITY OR FIELD WORK A Community or Field Worker will work in conjunction with the local field workers and will be responsible for:

• Visiting children living outside the orphanage, neighboring villages and local schools
• Meeting key people in the community to gather information e.g. the number of people living inthe child’s family, type of housing and the availability of water, necessity of food and clothes
• Assisting in the development of plans for local families to address issues such as basic hygiene, proper ways of cleaning and cooking food, boiling water for drinking, prevention of diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Typhoid

Required skills:

• Health/development skills would be an advantage but not essential
• Good social skills and patience
• Experience in or desire to care for the needy
• Alertness towards hygiene
• Volunteers should note that this role involves a lot of walking due to lack of transportation means
