AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAME ASSISTANT

An After School Programme Assistant will work in conjunction with the staff and will be
responsible for:

• Assisting the children caretaker in keeping children focused and engaged in learning activities in ways that enhance creativity, motivation and being positive towards life
• Providing homework help for children of the age from five to twelve
• Assisting children with art & crafts
• Being a model and enforcing the site programme rules consistently and fairly
• Informing programme staff of problems or concerns about children’s learning, attitude andbehaviour

Required skills:

• Volunteer must enjoy working with children
• Good and effective verbal communication (most children understand English)
• Sensitivity towards children
• Sense of responsibility, maturity and self-assertion
• Positive attitude
