BARAKA TECHNICAL COLLEGE:

Baraka Technical College is found in the lower Easter Province in Kenya along the Thika-Garissa Road about 800m from Sofia Market on Ndalani Road which is approximately 100 KM from Nairobi and 5 KM before Matuu Town. The college is located in Yatta District, Yatta Division, Kithimani Location, Kithendu Sub–location.
It is the only technical college aiming to assist the underprivileged in this community. Yatta subdivision has 61 primary schools and approximately 1,830 students who are released annually to the community. Our simple analysis shows that 25% of the total students are the ones who join high schools the other 75% are excluded, some due to lack of funds while others due to insufficient qualification.
By now the centre has acquired over 5 acres land and constructed dormitories for boys and girls with a capacity of 300 along with other facilities like classrooms, offices and a chapel. It works hand in hand with the provincial administration and church leaders in the area to identify the most needy children and youth within the community.
